Greater Seymour Trust Fund - Special Grants

 

 

The Greater Seymour Trust Fund Board of Managers annually allocates funds to be distributed to 501(c)(3) organizations in Jackson County. Notice is published each year in the local newspaper and on this site describing the funds available.

 

In order for an organization to qualify for consideration of grant funds the organization must have an Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) designation and the funds must be used within the City of Seymour, Indiana. The grant request may be for existing or new capital projects, equipment, technology and the support thereof. This is a one-time award for the purposes stated.

 

Available grant funds are announced after the annual meeting of the Board of Managers of the Greater Seymour Trust Fund. The annual meeting is generally held the second Tuesday of November. At that time a notice is published in the Seymour Tribune and a notice is mailed to a list of organizations which is maintained by the bank. The Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club established the fund for the benefit of the Boys & Girls Club of Seymour. The Boys & Girls Club of Seymour receives an annual distribution from the fund to be used for the Club.

This fund was established by an anonymous donor for the purpose of providing spontaneous and recurring gifts to qualified 501(c)(3) entities chosen by select members of the donor's family. Annual gifts have been made to K9's for Warriors, Riley Children's Foundation, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Children's Museum of Indianapolis, and many others.

Ed and Betty Elsner, Jr. Humanitarian Fund The fund was established by JCB to honor Mr. Elsner's many contributions to JCB and the community. The fund is for the benefit of Anchor House and Community Provisions. Anchor House receives two-thirds (2/3) and Community Provisions of Jackson County receives one-third (1/3) of the annual distribution from the fund.

A bequest from Evie Scott to provide money for projects benefiting young people of Seymour. An annual distribution as Special Grants is made to qualifying 501(c)(3) entities in Seymour, Indiana.

Fred Kasting, a lifetime resident of Jackson County established the fund as a bequest under his Will for the benefit of Developmental Services, Inc. and American Cancer Society of Jackson County. Developmental Services, Inc. and American Cancer Society (benefiting Jackson County, Indiana) each receive an equal annual distribution from the fund.

Jacie E. Hanner established the fund through a bequest in her Will to provide financial assistance to the Humane Society of Jackson County. The Humane Society of Jackson County receives an annual distribution from the fund.

This fund was established by family of Jill D. Carlson to support organizations providing health care benefits to individuals suffering from mental illness in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Distributions will be made annually to Centerstone, Columbus Regional Health Foundation FBO Mental Health Action Team, Milestones Clinic, and Developmental Services.

A bequest by Maude S. Welch to award scholarships in the field of nursing to residents of Jackson County and fund educational programs for nurses through Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. Graduating student of Jackson County. Recipient must major in Nursing. May be renewable for subsequent years.

A bequest from Miriam Newkirk to provide money for projects benefiting youth of Seymour. An annual distribution as Special Grants is made to qualifying 501(c)(3) entities in Seymour, Indiana.

The fund was established under the Will of Nellie Kloeker for scholarships in Seymour and grants for local charitable purposes. One-half of the annual distributions shall be awarded as scholarships to non-high school students in the area of ministry, teaching, nursing, physicians and to graduating seniors who are residents of Seymour. This fund was established by a distribution from the Estate of Richard H. Ruddick to benefit Seymour First Baptist Church and Hayden Methodist Church. Annual distributions of equal value will be made to Seymour First Baptist Church and Hayden Methodist Church

The Board of Directors of Anchor House in Seymour, Indiana established the fund for the benefit of Anchor House using a bequest under the Will of Sharon Bradford. Anchor House receives an annual distribution from the fund.

The St. Paul United Church of Christ congregation established the fund at the time of merger with Peace Lutheran Church of Seymour, Indiana. Peace Lutheran Church receives an annual distribution from the fund.

Established by the Rotary Club of Columbus, Indiana to provide non-profit grants in support of the Club’s mission, and to provide scholarships to students in Bartholomew County, Indiana.

Established by the Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Seymour in Seymour, Indiana. This grant fund collects donations which are to be expended for charitable expenses related to community-based projects such as the installation of trees, aquatics, trails, skateparks, or other charitable projects in the City of Seymour.

Established by the Seymour Rotary Club of Seymour, Indiana to provide non-profit grants in support of the Club’s mission, and to provide scholarships to students in Jackson County, Indiana.

A bequest by Verna Robertson to benefit underprivileged children, elderly, physically handicapped or sick individuals in the townships of Hamilton, Jackson, Washington and Redding. An annual distribution as Special Grants is made to qualifying 501(c)(3) entities in Seymour, Indiana.
