Greater Seymour Trust Fund - Scholarships
The Greater Seymour Trust Fund is pleased to offer an array of scholarships benefiting Seymour, Jackson County, and other surrounding counties. Unless otherwise noted, the scholarships are available for only the freshman year of college. Applications for these scholarships are evaluated, to varying degrees, based on need, academic achievement, and school and community involvement.

The scholarship fund was established by the family and friends of Amanda. Amanda was a 16-year old Seymour High School student who was active in her high school, 4-H, church and the community prior to her death in a car accident. Amanda planned to become a veterinarian. The scholarship fund was established under the Will of Anah C. Klakamp. The scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors of Seymour High School. The scholarship shall be for tuition plus $1,000.00 to be used for other college expenses. The tuition cost shall be awarded equal to the current year's tuition at Indiana University. The scholarship may be a four-year renewable scholarship.
This scholarship fund was established by Marguerite Scott following the death of her husband, Barney. This fund provides scholarships to graduating seniors of Seymour High School who have received a varsity letter in any sport at Seymour High School and who will attend college in Indiana with a major in Education. Once the above criteria are met, financial need is to be the primary additional consideration.
The scholarship memorial was established in honor of Ben Everhart by his family and friends for scholarships to a male graduating senior of Seymour High School who participated in the athletic program. Dr. Mary Jo Foster established the scholarship fund in memory of her husband Charles Forrest Foster. Mr. Foster was a 1941 graduate of Shields High School in Seymour, Indiana. A bequest under the Will of Ora E. Story for scholarships to graduating seniors of Seymour High School. Greg Prange was a 1979 graduate of Seymour High School. He excelled as a football and basketball player for the Owls, and later attended Indiana University, Bloomington.
